FABRIZIO W. LUCIOLLI
President of the Atlantic Treaty Association and President of the Italian Atlantic Committee, Fabrizio W. Luciolli is Professor of International Security Organizations, Military Policy, and National Security Policy at the Center for High Defense Studies of the Italian Ministry of Defense (2000-2015). He is a regular lecturer in various national and international, military, and academic institutions.
Coordinator of Training Courses for military officers and diplomats in the Western Balkans and Middle East, he is Director and promoter of NATO and EU cooperation projects in Central and Southeastern Europe and in the Mediterranean countries. Prof. Luciolli is also a Consultant on foreign affairs and security matters to various Governments and Members of Parliament as well as Advisor for International and Institutional Relations of private groups. He is the author of several papers and articles published in national and foreign journals.
The Secretary General
Secretary General of the Atlantic Treaty Association, Jason Wiseman has been with the ATA Headquarters since 2012 and worked as a National Security Analyst with the NATO Association of Canada from 2011. He holds an MA in Government with a Specialization in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security and a BAH in Political Science. His areas of expertise include Counter-Terrorism, State Failure and Transnational Organized Crime.
ARTUR JORGE GIRÃO
Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association, Member of the Atlantic Association of Portugal and founder of YATA Portugal, Artur Jorge Girao has maintained a strong involvement in events related to security and defence issues. He currently works in the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service, developing functions as Head of Unit at the Central Directorate for Management and Administration, particularly at the level of facilities and security unit. He serves as a lecturer and moderator at conferences on Politics, Security and Defence issues.
KATE HANSEN BUNDT
Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association and Secretary General of the Norwegian Atlantic Committee, Kate Hansend Bundt’s academic interests include Germany’s political development and role in Europe, the European integration process, and transatlantic relations. From 1990—1993 she was a fellow/researcher with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). Between 1993—2005, she worked as a research director at the Oslo-based think tank Europaprogrammet, and from 2006 she worked as an independent European researcher, lecturer, writer, and commentator of international affairs.
Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association and Secretary General of the Euro-Atlantic Association of Austria, Arnold Kammel is also the Secretary General of the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES). Arnold Kammel studied Law and Political Science in Graz, Vienna and Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and holds a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Graz as well as a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna. Mr. Kammel obtained a Master of Arts in Business from the University of Applied Sciences in Eisenstadt.
Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association, Julian Lindley-French is Senior Fellow at the Institute of Statecraft, Director of Europa Analytica, a member of the Strategic Advisory Group of the Atlantic Council of the United States and the Strategic Advisory Panel of General Sir Nick Houghton, Chief of the British Defence Staff. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Strategy and Security Institute at the University of Exeter. His blog, Lindley-French’s Blog Blast, has a world-wide readership and is on the websites of several leading think-tanks. He is also a regular columnist for several leading newspapers. Author of several books his last The Oxford Handbook of War is regarded as a definitive anthology on war. In January 2014 he published the book “Little Britain? Twenty- First Century Strategic Challenges for a Middling European Power”.
John holds a degree in International Business and Management Studies and is currently obtaining a Masters Degree in Human Geography. He attended the Royal Netherlands Naval Academy between 2012 and 2014 and afterward joined a reserve company of the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces, where he currently is a staff NCO. He has founded his own consultancy bureau ‘Pantheon’, with which he is currently based at Radboud University’s Centre for International Conflict Analysis and Management (CICAM) for projects on militias and warlords. John is a board member of the Netherlands YATA Chapter and affiliated with the Netherlands Society for International Affairs. He is a frequently seen face at institutions in The Hague.
Jean-Paul R. Preumont was elected Treasurer of the Atlantic Treaty Association in May 2011. Before taking on this function, he was Director of the Centre for studies (1976 – 1991) and Vice-President (1991 – 2011) of the Euro-Atlantic Association of Belgium. Since 2003, he is also Chairman of the Jury of the Euro-Atlantic Award of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Arnaud J. D. Jansen is from Brussels, Belgium. He is attorney at law and a member of the Brussels bar since 1990. He was elected as Legal Adviser and Counsellor in May 2007. He is member, ex officio, of the Bureau, the Council and the General Assembly of the ATA.
Senior Program Officer
Dr. Alessandro Niglia is responsible for the coordination of programs of cooperation for peace and security in NATO partner countries. He is lead author and editor of the books published by NATO “The Protection of Critical Energy Infrastructure Against Emerging Security Challenges” and “Critical Infrastructure Protection Against Hybrid Warfare Security Related Challenges”. Prior, he worked at the EU Commission at DG Regional & Urban Policy and he was a Consultant at Capgemini working with the European Space Agency (ESA). Furthermore, he collaborated with the Department of European Planning and Governance from Roma Capitale. Dr. Niglia graduated cum laude in Political Science and European Studies and holds a Post-Graduate Master in Geo-politics and Global Security as well as an Executive Master in Project Management from Il Sole 24 Ore.
Ms. Mundt obtained her degree in Political Science with a major in Middle Eastern Studies and a foucs on classification of terror organizations in the MENA region. Her primary acedemic and research focus includes; Counter-Terrorism, Strategic Culture & Foreign affairs, Intelligence, Security and State-building & Women, Peace & Security. Ms. Mundt is the founder and president of International Politics – NOW and a facilitator at the Security and Defence Agenda’s Security Jam 2014.
Ms. Torretta is Program Assistant at the Atlantic Treaty Association. Before joining ATA, Ms. Torretta has worked at the Press and Media Office of the European Commission Representation in Rome and at the Policy and Studies Section of EUROCORPS HQ in Strasbourg. She holds a Master degree in Security studies at Sciences Po in Strasbourg and a Master degree in International Relations from Lumsa.
